Job Description

The Graduate Assistant for Student Staff Recruitment, Selection & Training within the Office of Housing and Residence Life is responsible for assisting with student staff recruitment, selection, training, and development. The preferred candidate will have some Housing/Residence Life experience and is required to be enrolled in the College Student Personnel or related graduate program. Additionally, we seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. Specific responsibilities include:

¬ Student Staff Selection:
¬ Serve on the Student Staff Recruitment and Selection Team.
¬ Assist with the recruitment for and management of student staff positions.
¬ Assist with application review, interviewing and selection of student staff.
¬ Evaluate, recommend and develop improvements for the staff selection processes.
¬ Student Staff Training
¬ Serve on the Student Staff Training and Development Team.
¬ Actively participate in the planning and implementation student staff training and development.
¬ Evaluate, recommend and develop improvements for the staff training processes.
¬ Attend weekly supervision and staff meetings.
¬ Serve in the on-call weekend duty rotation for approximately 2,200-3,600 residents.
¬ Serve as hearing officer and process paperwork for alleged violations of the student housing handbook and the student code of contact.
Other duties as assigned including some night and weekend time commitments
