Job Description

The Ohio University Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, twelve month, non-tenure-track, faculty position as Director for the Psychology and Social Work Clinic with rank of Lecturer.

Responsibilities include teaching graduate and possibly undergraduate classes as well as directing a multi-disciplinary outpatient training and research facility that is a clinical training site for Psychology and Social Work graduate students. The clinic provides a range of psychological services to the university and surrounding community members of all ages.

This position is engaged in a wide variety of administrative, instructional, research, and practice-based activities. We seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

This position will require the Lecturer and Director to:
• Teach both didactic and practical courses for doctoral students in the clinical psychology program, as well as possibly didactic courses at the undergraduate level in the clinical psychology area;
• Administer all activities of the clinic;
• Supervise all clinic personnel and assigned student trainees;
• Oversee clinical functions including client intakes, case assignments and emergency management;
• Assure accurate record keeping and documentation in accordance with normative standards (HIPAA);
• Coordinate clinic activities to fit (as best as possible) with training needs of represented training programs;
• Solicit contractual relationships for clinical services in the community;
• Move the clinic towards a reimbursement model;
• Work with the Director of Clinical Training to coordinate practicum sites with clinical training needs of the clinical and social work programs;
• Develop clinical experiences that will expose trainees to diversity in clinical training;
• Develop relationships with other human service organizations in the community;
• Seek grant funding for services, research, and training;
• Facilitate and oversee faculty research conducted through the clinic;
• Develop and implement procedures for approving clinic-based research;
• Work with faculty to solicit grant funding for clinic-based research;
• Participate in clinical section activities;
• Coordinate competency reviews of students;
• Serve on clinical section committees;
• Vote on all clinical section-related issues except staffing.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.

Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in Ohio.

Experience in managing psychological service operations including crisis management.

Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with one year or more of post-doctoral or clinical experience.
