Pool Title Online Course Facilitator
Position Summary

Ohio University Department of Interdisciplinary Health Studies including Global Health is seeking applications for Online Course Facilitators including Global Health and/or Global Health in Literature.

Applications to this pool posting will be considered to fill intermittent, non-benefits eligible facilitator positions as student demand dictates. The number of on-line courses offered is largely dependent upon student demand. Therefore, the need to hire facilitators often comes with very little notice. Such facilitator positions will be filled with qualified applicants from this pool.

Online Course Facilitators engage students in learning that meets the course and learning objectives, moderate weekly discussions and encourage quality participation from students, provide meaningful feedback to students on discussions, assist in creating a positive and supportive learning environment for students; provide timely grading of discussions in accordance to the rubric provided by the instructor of record.

Facilitators are paid $65.00 per assigned student and will have a minimum of 10 students with a maximum of 40 students, depending on the class and work involved. Expected hours and days will vary. The average number of hours depends on the course and the number of students assigned.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s Degree or enrolled in an OHIO graduate program (Master’s or PhD) in Public Health, Global Health, International Studies, International Development Studies, Communication and Development studies or related areas.
- Reliable internet connection

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous Blackboard and/or instruction of facilitation of online courses
- Experience in community/public/global health
- Completion of IHS 5210 Fundamentals of Global Health or a similar course
